new updated ice machine on the 1st floor, magnifying mirror in the bathroom, spacious shower with large rain shower head
Processing credit card took ages, would've preferred more efficient handling!!! Parking arrangements could be communicated better to avoid confusion!!!

Unexpected charm in a noisy stay
The location was fantastic. The king suite was beautifully renovated.
Unfortunately, being on the first floor meant I could hear the club music and the frequent noise from the ice machine, which disrupted my peace at night.

Ideal and easy position, we liked staying here.
The hotel was lively and clean, brand-new rooms. The bed was amazing, and the room itself was comfortable. It was nice to have a microwave oven, tea and coffee making equipment, and a fridge available. Location: the property was short walk to Victoria and all the hotpots and restaurants and everything, including the pleasant breakfast.

The hotel's amenities were excellent, yet
The parking situation was inconvenient. While the room itself offered great views, and the staff was accommodating, navigating to the parking garage was a hassle. It's a great choice if you don't mind a little extra effort to park.

Location
Bar noise impacted sleeping in 3rd floor rooms. Discussed this with hotel staff, got tough nothing we will do, shut up leave us alone. Continental breakfast opening gal was rude, walking around writing little messages on masking tape and placing all around eating area. The whole point of a room was to get a goodnights sleep, hotel staff did not care

The Queen Room with Two Queen Beds was really comfy. Beds are super nice and the room was spacious. We loved the big fridge and having a microwave was a game changer for leftovers. The air conditioning was a bit loud, actually fine for us-it drowned out any outside noise. It also had a safe for valuables. They kept it clean and fresh every day. No complaints on the room, honestly.

Location
Curtains need replacing, clean but no block out. Windows need to be doubled glazed, street noise very loud. No coffee making, Felt very insucure with ajoining door, just a flimsy latch side separating rooms, would not take much to push in.

The Strathcona Hotel provides a lively atmosphere in a prime downtown location, close to many attractions. The rooms are charming but a bit cramped, and noise from nearby nightlife can be an issue. Still, the friendly staff and convenient amenities make it worthwhile.

The location.
It was hot. Rude comments directed at my step daughter from a staff member. We had chicken coupe wire on the windows. The bar crowd from the hotel kept us awake until after the bar closed.
